1. Overview Built-in map, i.e., map component, allows users to use the built-in map to count the sales of different regions and other indicators. 2. Function 2.1 Map Data Map is divided into two data types, one is map columns and the other is latitude and longitude coordinates, please refer to Map Concept > Map Data Type. 2.2 Match Geographic Data If there is a column of geographic data, before binding it to the map component, it needs to be converted to a map column and match the geographic data, please refer to Create Map > Quick Start for matching geographic data function. 2.3 Bind Map Data There are two ways to locate in the map, through latitude and longitude, landmarks to locate, the specific way to use depends on your data format. You can directly bind latitude and longitude or map columns, for example, country, province, city and other data are directly bound to the landmark area, as shown below: ➢Note: V94 and later versions, with built-in maps and GIS maps, will unify the geographic data binding area to the landmark area, i.e., the latitude and longitude columns and map columns are all directly dragged and dropped to the landmark area to bind, and the columns and rows area can be dragged and dropped into the dimensional data, which is used to make multi-axis maps. •If the data is geographic data such as provinces, countries, cities, etc., it needs to be converted to map columns and matched with geographic data first, and then bound to the landmark area. The following figure is shown: If the data are latitude and longitude values, you can directly drag one of the columns into the landmark area, and a pop-up window will appear, in which you need to define the latitude and longitude of the coordinate points, as shown in the following figure: 2.4 Map Render After binding the landmark data, click the down arrow icon to select the rendering type, including area map, point map, heat map and migration map, as shown below. If it is latitude and longitude data, area map is not supported, only point map, thermal map and migration map can be set. [Area Map] Display the map area with area color blocks, you can set the area color and pattern to compare and analyze the data. [Region Map】Display the geographic location with points, you can set the color, shape and size of the points to compare and analyze the data. [Thermal Map] Convert the data into color tones, you can clearly see the distribution of hotspots by the degree of color change. [Migration Map] The migration map needs to specify the start column and arrival column to show the data movement from the start point to the arrival point on the map. ➢Example: To analyze the air transportation of coffee from countries around the world to Shanghai, the data used is shown below. Convert the country and city into map columns, then bind the country to the graph area as the first, drop down and select "Migration Map", the bound "Country" will become the starting column, and you need to bind it again as shown below. Then bind "City" as the arrival column. After the binding is completed, you can set the mark color, shape, size, you can bind "Salesv Volume" to the size area, according to the size of the marks can be distinguished from the sales volume of various places, the settings are as follows: In the right side Graphic > Graphic Setting > Migration Animation you can set the migration animation, the flywire settings of the migration animation include speed, height, and icon. [Animation]Migration animation supports three kinds of flywire, including icon flywire, pulse flywire and flow flywire, the default is icon flywire. Migration animation supports hide and show, default uncheck the checkbox before hide, that is, show migration animation. •Icon fly line: the icon fly line from the start point to the end point, the icon can be the built-in icon of the system or the icon in .svg format uploaded by the user. •Pulse flywire: a pulse flywire from the start point to the end point, the flywire is a segment of pulse. •Flow fly line: flow fly line from start point to end point, the fly line fades from start point to end point. ➢Note: Migration animation is not supported on Desktop for regular members, it is supported for super members. Different flylines support slightly different settings, refer to the table below for details. Fly LINE Setting Description
Icon Fly Line Including speed, height and icon. Speed: the flow speed of the flywire, there are 6 speeds, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. default is auto, i.e. 3. when the speed is 0, there is no animation, the icon flywire animation does not show the icon effect. The higher the value, the faster the flywire speed. Height: the arc of the flywire, there are 6 heights, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. default is auto, i.e. 3. when the height is 0, there is no arc, the flywire is shown as a straight line. The larger the value, the larger the arc of the fly line. Icon: the icon of the fly line, in the icon dialog box, the system has built-in several .svg format icons for users to choose to use, you can also click "Customize", in the "Custom Shape" dialog box to upload the .svg format icon.
Inpulse Fly Line Including speed, height
Flow Fly Line
Different migration animations are rendered as shown in the following animations: icon fly line, inpulse fly line, flow fly line. ➢Note: If you want to not show the start and end points on the migration animation, check the checkbox in front of "Hidden Extreme Point" in Graphic > Graphic Setting > Mark. 2.5 Map Sort After binding the map columns, click the down arrow to select Unordered, Sort by Columns, Sort Manually, and Custom Sort as shown in the following figure. For more details about the usage, please refer to No Sort, Sort by Column, Manual Sort, Custom Sort. 2.6 Multi-Axis Map ➢Example: We want to analyze the sales of each market level under each market distribution, we need to put the data on a separate map to better compare and analyze the data. 1) Bind both the market and market size fields to columns or rows, as an example, bind to columns as shown below: 2) Bind the map columns to landmarks and set up a rendering method, such as a point map. 3) Bind the Sales field to "Size" in the Marks, and calculate the Sales_Total to reflect the sales according to the mark size, as shown below: You can adjust the position of the axes in the right side Axis > Axis Setting. 2.7 Custom Region If "Custom" is selected for the display level, click "Custom" to support grouping by region, and display by region (e.g. Central China, South China...). If you click "Customize Settings", it supports grouping by region, and can be displayed by region (e.g. Central China, South China, etc.). When the geographic information is different, the data at that level can be grouped separately; After selecting different map scopes, select "Custom" for the display level. For example, when the map scope is "World", in the customization pop-up window, the level of choice of continents, geographic data for the region, then the ungrouped data for the world's continents, as shown in the figure: When the map scope is the world, the display level can be continent, seven continents, country, province, city, county. [Group to "Other"] Check this option to create a group with the name of "Other", if there is no grouping of data, it will be placed under the "Other" group. [Add Group] Click the New button in the Grouping area to create a group, the default name is Group 1, Group 2....... The new group will be selected by the cursor and the name of the group can be changed, and the new group can be dragged into the geographic data from the right side. [Rename] Select a group and click Rename to change the name of the group. [Delete] Select a group, click to cancel the group, the current group will be cleared. [Clear] To clear all the groups. If China is selected as the map range, the customization pop-up window is shown in the figure below, the default group information is the information of China region, which can be customized by creating new groups, renaming and other operations: The product provides the default regions in China: Northeast China: Jilin, Liaoning, Heilongjiang; East China: Shanghai, Anhui, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian; Central China: Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan; North China: Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Hebei; South China: Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan; Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan: Taiwan, Macao, Hong Kong; Northwest China: Ningxia, Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Qinghai; Southwest: Yunnan, Sichuan, Tibet, Guizhou, Chongqing; After data matching, a map of China grouped by regions can be drawn. 2.8 Multi-Layer Map V9.4 version supports multi-layer maps, you can bind multiple map columns in the landmark area, or bind map columns and latitude/longitude coordinates at the same time to realize multi-layer rendering above the map background, with each layer analyzing different indicators respectively. Up to 6 layers of data can be bound. ➢Example: Analyze the sales of different provinces in each market, the table below: We can use a multi-layer map to compare the sales of different markets and regions and different provinces respectively. The specific steps are as follows: 1) Convert the original dimension fields "Province" and "Market" into map columns, select the province for the display level of "Province", and select the province for the display level of "Market". The display level of "Province" is selected as province, and the display level of "Market" is customized, and the map column is generated as shown below: 2)Bind the "grouped regions" and "provinces" to the landmarks in turn, with the first map level under the next, set the grouped regions as regional maps and the provinces as point maps; 3)Bind the analyzed data to the marker group area to compare different sales in marker style. Grouping region for the regional map, the "sales" field will be bound to the grouping region (regional map) tagged color area, through the color to distinguish between sales, and binding the grouping region, sales to the label area to display the value, as shown below: Province for the point map, the "Sales" field is bound to the province (point map) marked size area, through the size of the point to distinguish sales, set the shape of the point as a shopping cart, and bind the region, sales to the label area to display the value of the following figure: The effect is shown below: In order to see the difference between the two levels more clearly, you can turn on the 3D effect on the right side [Settings], set the rotation angle and the thickness of the map background, please refer to the back of the function Note for the 3D effect. For example, if you set the vertical rotation to 40° and the thickness to 5, the effect will be as below: If there is no data for certain provinces, you can not show these areas when drawing, you can hide the no-data areas in the right side [Settings > Map Settings]. For example, there is no data for Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces, the effect is as follows: Through the multi-layer map, you can select any layer of data, mouse over the markers to view the data information. Above analysis results: through the grouping of regional layer area color to see the Northwest, Southwest sales_total more; through the provincial layer point size to see the Sichuan, Yunnan, Xinjiang sales_total ranked top. If more layers are bound to the map columns, resulting in the inability to select the following map layers, you can set [Graphics > Graphics Settings > Markers] on the right side to hide the layers or disable the selection: [Hide Layer] is unchecked by default, when it is checked, it hides the current layer and hides the province (point map) layer, the effect is as below: Disable Selection] is unchecked by default, after checking, the current layer can not be selected, usually used to disable the upper layer of data that do not need to be analyzed. 2.9 Map Drill The map inherently exists in a certain level, for example, at the beginning is the world, the user can select China, drill down to show the provinces in China, select Guangdong, drill down to show the cities in Guangdong, you can also return through the upper drill down. There are two kinds of map definitions, one is through landmark columns, the other is through latitude and longitude bindings, the first one is the only one that supports drilling down, the second doesn't matter about the upper and lower hierarchical relationships, so it doesn't support it. Before using the drilldown function, please bind the field with hierarchy, if there is no hierarchy, please Create Drill Hierarchy in the data field area. ➢Example: Bind Province, the next level is city, as below.
When make map, left-click on the map to select the specified area will pop up the menu for drill up and down , preview and view dashaboard, you can left-click on the area to directly drill down, if there are multiple operations will pop up the menu, as shown in the following figure:
2.10 Map Color •Map background color The map background color is gray by default. After dragging in the map component, you can select the component and set the background (color, image), font color and border format in the right side Format > Part Format, as shown below: •Data area color After binding the map column on the landmark, it will render the data on the map background, you can click the Color button inside the marker group to set the color of the data area, as shown below: You can also select a data rendering area and set the color in Format > Part Format in the right side, as shown below: ➢Note: The above method to set the color will be effective for all data areas, you can not set the color of one of the blocks individually. If you want to display different colors for each data block, please bind the dimension data you want to compare and analyze to the color area of the marks, for example, bind the "Province" field to the color, as shown in the following figure: Click the ▽ behind "Province", drop down and select [Edit Color], you can define the color in the popup window, as below: You can choose different colors, such as classic blue, macaroon, etc., and the color will be assigned to each dimension data according to the color system. [Effect] When checked, it will add a shadow effect to the data rendering area, as shown below: [Reverse] When checked, it will reverse the current legend order. [Custom] When checked, you can click the color button in front of the data to set the color individually, as shown below:
[Fixed Color Series] When checked, it will display the colors in the swatch fixed color order. When unchecked, the colors will match the dimension values instead of the swatch fixed color order. As shown in the figure below:
2.11 Map Setting In the right side Graphic, you can set the display range, small map of the South China Sea islands, map effect, 3D effect, etc. •Display range In the right side Graphic > Map Setting > Range, you can set the map scope, display , and hide the area with no data, as shown below: [Auto] is checked by default, when it is checked, it will draw according to the map range and display tier set when setting the map column, after unchecking, you can modify the map range, display tier, and whether to hide the no-data area. [Map Scope] refers to the scope of the display when drawing the map, including the world, Australia, France, Canada, the United States, the United States county/county, Japan, Japanese cities, towns and villages, Thailand, Spain, Spanish provinces, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, China. [Display Level]Different levels display different content, the larger the scope of the level, the less information is displayed, for example, if you select a country, the map will be divided into areas according to the national boundaries, which is not suitable for analyzing data in such a small range as cities and counties. Hide areas without data] is not checked by default, after checking, only areas with data are left on the map. •South China Sea Islands Map When the bound data are provinces, cities, counties and customized regions in China, Graphic > Map Setting > South China Sea Islands Map in the right side can be set to display the Nanhai Zhudao area as a small map placed at the bottom left or bottom right of the component, as shown in the figure: [Hide] Whether to display the small map of the South China Sea Islands Map. [Position] When the bound data is the province or city data of China, you can set the South China Sea islands area to be displayed as a small map in the right pane, which is placed in the lower left or lower right of the component. [Border Color] Set the border color of the small map. •Map Effect ➢Note: Map effect is not supported by normal members on Desktop, but supported by super members. Map effect makes the map layer effects cooler and enhance the visual effect of the map. You can set them in Graphic > Map Setting > Map Effect. The map effects include sweep kinetic effect and border Self Illumination, as shown below. Sweep Kinetic Effect: Animation effect that displays a line sweeping effect on the base map plane, from left to right. Border Self Illumination: The border is self-illuminated and the color follows the format. The luminous range is the surface of the visible border, not layer control. •Sweep Kinetic Effect •Border Self illumination 3D effect The map 3D effect makes the map more three-dimensional, usually used in multi-layer maps. You can turn it on in Map Setting > 3D Effect, as shown below: [3D Effect] is unchecked by default, and you can turn on the 3D effect after checking it. [Rotation Angle] You can set the map to rotate horizontally and vertically, the horizontal rotation angle ranges from -80° to 80°, and the vertical rotation angle ranges from 0° ~ 80°. [Outer Boundary] The boundary at the bottom edge of the 3D map, the outer boundary includes None, Border and Light, the default is None. Border is a fixed border, no border self illumination without flow effect; light is a fixed border plus the effect of external luminescence. [Boundary Style]] The boundary at the bottom edge of the 3D map, the boundary style includes line style and line color. The line style supports 3 kinds, including fine, medium and thick; the line color supports monochrome selection and RGB value input. [Bulge Thickness] Set the 3D thickness of the map background, the thickness range is 1 ~ 100. [Custom Side Color] Default unchecked that follows the map background, after checking, show color and alpha options, default value is the value of the map background, support to change. After the map background is set to image, the check is fixed automatically. [Bottom Reflection】Bottom reflection needs to be turned on first for 3D effect, bottom reflection that is, the bottom of the map shows the reflection parallel to the symmetry, rotation angle synchronization, no thickness of the reflection, the spacing between the two is the thickness of the map protruding, the style is the same, and alpha is 60%. ➢Note: •Turn on bottom reflection and sweep kineticeffect, the reflection has no motion effect. •Export map, keep the map effects: no sweep kineticeffect, keep border self illumination and bottom reflection. For example, set the vertical rotation is 40° and the bulge thickness is 6, the effect will be as below. For example, set the vertical rotation to 30°, the outer border is borde, the boundary style is thick, the color to be 39E8EF, and the bulge thickness is 3. For example, set the vertical rotation to 30°, the outer boundary is light , the boundary style is thin, the color is 39E8EF, and the bulge thickness is 3. For example, set the vertical rotation 45 °, the outer boundary is border, the boundary style is thin, the color is 4E79A7, the bulge thickness is 10,,Check the custom side color, set the color to FE2C23, alpha is 85%. For example, set vertical rotation of 60 °, the outer boundary is none, check the bottom reflection. 2.12 Map Animation In the right side Setting > Animation, you can set to enable carousel. When carousel is checked, the carousel effect is turned on. [Animation Duration] The duration of each map area from protruding outward to retracting, default is 500ms. [Animation Interval] The time when the animation of one category of map area protruding outward finishes, retracts and starts the animation of the next category of area protruding outward, the default is 2000ms. [Show Tip] Tip follows the carousel when carousel. [Retain all render area] is unchecked by default, after checking, all data areas will be shown in the carousel, rendered as light color background, and the carousel areas will be highlighted. If unchecked, only the area that is being carousel will be highlighted, and the other areas will have the same style as the map background. The carousel animation effect is shown below: ➢Note: vividime Server needs to buy Vivid Show license to support carousel.
